Short Term Accommodation on South Stradbroke Island!
On these ‘Fishing Retreats’ (minimum 2 night stay) our guest/s will board the commercial fishing charter boat ‘Beachcomber’ and travel to Couran Point on South Stradbroke Island (about a half hour boat ride away) from Runaway Bay. This comfortable resort style home – where guests will have their own bedroom – will be our base for the duration of your STA. From here we can explore the pristine waterways around Jumpinpin in Southern Moreton Bay, or even offshore, to catch a variety of species!
Our boat’s Captain is not only a passionate fisherman, but is also a qualified Chef, and at the end of the day can cook the catches up – and teach you these cooking skills if you are interested! We understand and can cater for all food preferences. All care, accommodation, food and activities are covered for the weekend of your STA.
‘Beachcomber’ is an aluminium commercial charter boat at 8.86 metre long (almost 30 foot) and 3 metres wide, with a cruising speed of 20 knots powered by two new Honda 150hp outboards – the perfect boat for a Gold Coast Fishing Charter! ‘Beachcomber’ has front access stairs to enable boat access for our guests from a beachside pickup location for yabby pumping or exploring island beaches. A marine toilet plus fresh water sink on board makes it easy to enjoy extended days out on the water.
‘Beachcomber Charters’ is a boutique family business. Our crew have had many years managing boutique resorts as well as lived experience with a family member on the spectrum, we understand and can accommodate requests to help make this respite retreat a comfortable and enjoyable weekend away.
