Ocean Heroes is a charity organisation that aims to improve the lives of neurodivergent individuals and their families through surfing.
We run free surfing events in WA, NSW & QLD to provide safe, inclusive access to the ocean to those on the autism spectrum.
These programs are exceptionally powerful in showing neurodivergent participants they ‘Can!’ through the medium of surfing. They help build confidence, community and safety around our beautiful, blue backyard and have profound benefits for both participants and their families alike.
There is no age limit and no prerequisite surfing/swimming ability, as long as the participant can fit into one of our life jackets, they are good to go. We provide the equipment (surfboards, wetsuits, life jackets) and know-how via skilled, patient volunteers who meet each participant wherever they are at on their ocean/surfing journey to make the experience as comfortable, empowering and enjoyable as possible.
Participants can book a 30-minute time slot in an event to come down and experience the joys of surfing!
