Ocean Heroes aims to improve the wellbeing of those on the autism spectrum and their families through surfing. The events are completely free for participants ensuring everyone can attend! In fact, we have taken over 10,000+ people on the autism spectrum surfing across Australia and cant wait to see you down at one of the best Queensland beaches. A big thank you to ToyBox Australia and Polymer direct for making these events possible!
There is no age limit and no prerequisite surfing/swimming ability, as long as the participant can fit into one of our life jackets, they are good to go. We provide the equipment (surfboards, wetsuits, life jackets) and know-how via skilled, patient volunteers to make the experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
What does the day look like: Participants will arrive at the beach, check in, be paired with an experienced surfer and then at the participants pace, enter the ocean. See our social story for further detail!
Venue: Currumbin Alley
Time: Your child will be allocated an 30 minute time slot between 9:00am – 1:30pm.
What to bring: Bathers, towels, change of warm clothes
* Please be advised it is compulsory for each attendee to wear a life jacket in the water*
We provide surfboards, wetsuits, lifejackets, surf instructors and good vibes!
