We have changed our name! Kids on the Spectrum is now called Living on the Spectrum

Flying Fox

We’re Flying Fox a not-for-profit based in Victoria that runs camps and social programs for young people with disability. Here we truly believe that fun is a human right. We create camps, community activities, and social experiences that help young people build real friendships, grow in confidence, and feel like they genuinely belong somewhere.

What makes us a little different is the level of care we put into every participant’s experience. We run a 2:1 buddy support ratio on all our camps (two trained young adult volunteers for every participant), we have professional medical support built into our programs, and we offer active overnight support too. We’re also a registered NDIS provider, so families can access our programs through their NDIS plans under Core or Capacity Building Supports. We never turn someone away for being “too complex”, but rather pride ourselves on welcoming participants of all support needs.

Flying Fox is for:

  • Young people with disability who want to build meaningful friendships through camps and community activities

  • Young people who want to enjoy fun, social experiences in carefully curated peer groups

  • Those looking to feel connected through ongoing opportunities and a supportive community

  • Families seeking a place where their child belongs, feels connected and is safe and supported
