Care I Wish

At Care I Wish, we organise and facilitate a “Discovery Session” when we receive enquiries from participants seeking a SIL/SDA Home. This is a participant-centred planning session where we have a conversation with the participant and their chosen supporters to understand more about their support needs, preferences, and interests. We then develop a profile for the participant and add it to our matching board. We share unidentified profiles with each party and ask for their feedback once we’ve identified a potential housemate match. If participants are happy, we proceed with sourcing a suitable home in their preferred location, ensuring they stay connected to their community. The participants are also involved in choosing their team of Disability Support Workers. We encourage participants to share their preference of support workers (age, gender and other preferences)
