MyComms is a communication accessibility app that helps children, teenagers and adults understand everyday information through personalised visual supports.
Families can create visual schedules, weekly calendars, task breakdowns and choice boards using their own photos, familiar people, places and routines. Rather than relying solely on generic symbols, MyComms helps families create supports that reflect the individual’s real life and experiences.
Many families are told to use visual supports, but keeping them up to date can be difficult. MyComms was created to make visual supports easier to create, personalise and use across home, school, therapy and community settings.
Because communication is not just about having a voice. It is also about having access to information you can understand.
MyComms is used by Autistic individuals and others who benefit from visual access to information, including people with ADHD, intellectual disability, acquired brain injury and dementia.
Features include:
• Daily schedules and routines
• Weekly calendars and upcoming events
• Step-by-step task supports
• Choice-making tools
• Home language options
• PDF export for printing and sharing
Designed by a speech pathologist and a teacher in consultation with autistic people and their families, MyComms focuses on helping people access information in ways that work for them, supporting understanding, participation, autonomy and access to everyday information.
