Virgil Therapy

Hi, I’m Jerico (AThR). I am an professionally registered arts psychotherapist with autism and ADHD. I proudly work with my fellow NDIS participants (self-managed and plan-managed).

In my private practice, Virgil Therapy, I work with adults (predominately women and LGBTQIA+ community members) as well as young people above 8-years-old who value a warm, relational, embodied, and creative approach to therapy. As an experiential and arts-based therapist, my practice integrates art materials and somatic inquiry, alongside conversation, to support clients through complex emotional experiences, identity exploration, and meaning-making. My therapeutic approach emphasises presence, deep listening, and engaging with creative materials as pathways to personal insight and meaning.

Arts therapy is particularly helpful to clients who struggle to put words to their experience, or would benefit from a more trauma-informed, embodied approach. I offer an attuned, compassionate container for clients to engage with inner complexity and emerge with greater clarity and resilience. My practice is affirming and person-centered, always.

My work values relational presence, emergence, client’s lived experience, and multimodal forms of expression as profound sources of knowledge. My work is informed by a gestalt, relational, parts work, ecological, and postmodern arts-based inquiry framework. You do not need to be “good at art” to engage in arts therapy. It’s the exploration that counts.
