About Us

About Living on the Spectrum

Living on the Spectrum is an autism and spectrum directory based in Australia. We list inclusive resources, products and events for the neurodivergent community. Our autism support information helps carers, parents, adults, educators, researchers, businesses and the general public learn more about autism and neurodiversity.

As of 2025, Living on the Spectrum is proudly powered by Amaze. Based in Melbourne, Amaze works nationally to create a more autism-inclusive Australia. By combining Living on the Spectrum’s trusted autism and neurogivergence supports directory with Amaze’s strong community voice and lived-experience focus, we’re making it even easier to access the right supports when you need them.

Making autism supports easy to find

Our goal is to make finding supports and resources quick, accessible and easy and to have positive impact on the lives of neurodivergent individuals and their parents and carers by making resources and information easy and quick to locate.

How living on the spectrum started

Living on the Spectrum was founded by Anita Aherne. As a neurodivergent person herself, Anita knew how hard it was to find the right kinds of supports. So she created a platform that provided free and accessible information, news, research and inclusive resources in the neurodiversity and spectrum space.

Frequently asked questions about the autism directory

Our directory is for anyone who wants to learn more about neurodiversity. We have information and resources for parents and carers of Autistic children, as well as a wide range of adult resources. Our goal is to make autism- and neurodivergent-specific products and services more accessible and to improve life outcomes for the neurodivergent community. Our directory lists products and services that cater to all abilities.

Living on the Spectrum is a profit-for-purpose organisation and works much like a social enterprise. That means we earn money through subscriptions and listings and use those funds to create positive outcomes for Autistic people and their families.

Charity or government organisations will have a link. If you are a private organisation and would like to prioritise your listing, which will include a link, please contact us.

No, a listing is not an endorsement. Living on the Spectrum does not claim to have tried the services listed on the directory, nor do we necessarily endorse any services listed. Our aim is to provide the full range of available resources so that each individual can decide what suits their support needs best.

Sorry about that! Send us an email and we will fix it ASAP.

Living on the Spectrum does not sell any of its own products.

The Living on the Spectrum directory only lists businesses that offer goods, services and events for children and adults on the autism spectrum (as well as their parents and carers). If you think you have a service that fits this brief, we would love to hear from you.
