In our work with so many clients on the NDIS, we unfortunately see a lot of discrimination, especially in the employment sector in regard to Autistic employees.
Our Autistic clients MAKE fantastic employees.
Many of our clients here at We Coach are scared to disclose their Autism diagnosis. This is due to the fear of being judged or discriminated against. However, when our clients become employed, we know that Autistic employees often become the most valued team members quickly!
Whether they receive a fast promotion or positive feedback from management from we have so many stories we could share! We encourage our clients to seek jobs in areas that interest them. By discerning where they choose to apply, they can thrive in their workplace from the start.
The We Coach Story
We Coach started after my own experience with Mental Health issues, where working with a Life Coach helped me to completely change my life! I overcame significant fears and challenges, one day after another. It was after this experience that I became a Neuroscience Practitioner as well as a Life Coach. I wanted others to have the same lifechanging experience. Having worked in Aged Care and Disability for many years, developing businesses and achieving high goals, I decided to start We Coach in order to help others achieve their goals and become the best version of themselves.
Empowering our community
We Coach’s Vision is to empower people by coaching them to achieve their career goals. We coach aims to help find their professional pathway in life and feel confident about it. Our Mission is to transform lives through empowerment, choice, control, and connections to work and community. All of our operations and activities are built upon the Values of:
Honesty | Openness | Transparency | Professionalism | Empowerment | Adaptability
In our work with clients on the NDIS, many of our clients identify as being on the Autism Spectrum.
We hear from so many of them that being Autistic in a Neurotypical world can be challenging. This is part of why we are so passionate about life coaching. It supports our clients to see and believe in themselves. Along with build confidence to be able to be themselves – irrespective of the world. We find many of our clients come to us with societal values or beliefs that have left them feeling unseen, unheard and undervalued. In our work together we help them find their true selves. and identify their true values and reach their goals with confidence and resilience.
While we understand that Neurodiversity is a Spectrum and every experience of being Autistic is unique, we have found some common themes and experiences shared with us by many our Autistic clients.

Autistic people DO have empathy.
Many of our autistic clients describe themselves as deeply sensitive to the feelings and experiences of others as well as environments around them. Being able to see things so clearly and directly means that our clients often feel easily overwhelmed in big crowds. This especially true when interacting with lots of people at once because of how much they feel! We love to support our clients to find strategies and resources that support them during times of overwhelm or overstimulation in areas of their life and work. We also help them understand how autistic burnout and meltdowns show up for them. Also ways to support themselves to return to calm when these experiences arise.
Autistic people make AMAZING friends.
For many of our clients, making friends can be challenging. Especially as our young people come back into the real world after covid put us so much online. When our autistic clients share about their friendships, they describe deep loyalty, similar interests and empathy for each other’s needs. For our clients who are feeling challenged in finding their ‘crew’ our coaching programs support the development of communication skills and confidence. Most importantly valuing themselves for the contribution they bring to their relationships with others. We are also linked to some amazing providers who provide supportive group spaces with like-minded neurodiverse folks that they can connect with.
We also help them build confidence in interview, resume and cover letter writing skills. Most importantly – we assist them in knowing the value they will bring to their workplace.
